Stanley Park

Covering 1,000 acres in the heart of Vancouver, Stanley Park is filled with plenty of activities and attractions for guests of Hyatt Regency Vancouver. Stanley Park is the largest city-owned park in Canada, third largest in North America, and has been ranked by The Project for Public Spaces as the sixteenth best park in the world, and sixth best in North America.

Some of the major things to see and do in the park include:

  • The Seawall - at 5.5 miles (8.8km), the seawall is one of the most popular spots for walking, jogging and biking. Bikes and rollerblades can be rented at various locations around the city, including just outside the park on Georgia Street
  • Monuments and Statues - The park has many plaques, statues and remembrance sights, saluting famous people and historic events
  • Totem Poles - one of the most popular tourist attractions, this collection of totem poles can be viewed at Brockton Oval.
  • Miniature Train - travel through the forest by train, on a trail that cover 1.25 miles
  • Vancouver Aquarium - explore Canada’s largest aquarium, with over 166 aquatic displays featuring more than 70,000 water animals. In addition to regular exhibits, the aquarium offers special programs including Beluga Encounters, Sleepovers, Kids Camps and more. 
  • Gardens - are an important part of Stanley Park’s green space. Scattered around the park are gardens including the Community Garden, Ornamental Plantings, Prospect Point Carpet Bedding, Ted & Mary Greig Rhododendron Garden, and the most well-known of the gardens, the Rose and Perennial Beds.
  • Sport facilities - including Pitch and Putt and tennis courts
